What it means
Usually written e/acc. A self-described movement favoring rapid technological development, competitive experimentation and the expansion of intelligence. Its early manifesto draws on thermodynamics and markets; those arguments are advocacy, not a scientific proof of the optimal pace of AI deployment. Participants do not share one detailed policy platform.
The strongest case
Innovation can solve material problems, and centralized gatekeepers can protect incumbents while preventing useful experimentation. Delay also has costs. This is a serious challenge to the assumption that restriction is always the cautious choice.
The difficult part
A description of how complex systems evolve does not by itself establish what people ought to value. Who absorbs failed experiments? Which harms are reversible? Supporters differ on openness, governance and the place of biological humans in the future.
